On October 21, Blizzard published Gather Around the Campfire, its explanation of camping in WoW Forever. Its table gives each profession's first campsite object with a range of values that depend on the character's level. The beta client (build 1.60.1.70450) writes the exact value for each band of levels in the objects' tooltips, and 9 of these 11 first objects copy a class buff. Here they are, against the class buffs they copy, with the one Blizzard's table leaves out.
What Blizzard confirms
- A Basic Campfire, made with Cooking, holds up to three objects placed by nearby players, one each. Cooks later learn campfires that hold five or 10.
- Sitting or crafting at the campsite for at least 1 minute gives the benefits of its objects. Every camping feature needs a campfire nearby, and all of them share a one-hour cooldown.
- Each buff is a variant of a class buff and is exclusive with it: the two do not stack.
- The first objects come at skill 20, from starter-zone quests or profession trainers; those from skill 140 drop in dungeons and raids.
- On a PvP ruleset, enemy players can come upon your camp.
Each buff at level 60, against its class buff
| Object | At level 60 | Class buff |
|---|---|---|
| First Aid Kit, First Aid | +56 Stamina | Power Word: Fortitude, +70 |
| Fish Bowl, Fishing | +8% stats | Blessing of Kings, +10% |
| Mana Well, Alchemy | 29 mana every 5 seconds | Blessing of Wisdom, 40 |
| Sharpening Wheel, Blacksmithing | +34 Strength | Strength of Earth Totem, +53 |
| Lodestone, Mining | +90 melee attack power | Blessing of Might, +133 |
| Enchanted Lute, Enchanting | +308 armor, +13 to all stats, +22 to all resistances | Mark of the Wild, +385, +16, +27 |
| Incense Candle, Herbalism | +25 Intellect | Arcane Intellect, +31 |
| Camp Chair, Skinning | +2% critical strike chance, spells and attacks | The aura of Moonkin Form, +3% spell critical strike chance |
| Faction Banner, Tailoring | +32 Spirit, your faction only | Divine Spirit, +40 |
The class values are the highest ranks on our spell pages, read from the same client. A camp buff is worth about four fifths of its class buff, three quarters for mana and two thirds for Strength and attack power: at level 60, a group with that class gets more from the class buff, and a group without it gets the camp buff instead. The Camp Chair's critical strike also counts for attacks, where the aura of Moonkin Form only helps spells. The two other first objects give no buff: the Camp Tent, from Leatherworking, raises rested experience to 5% of a level, and the Reagent Bot, from Engineering, sells reagents.
