WoW Forever turns the Cooking Fire into a Basic Campfire, where players rest, pick up one-hour buffs and place objects made with their professions, and Blizzard is adding more than 600 new recipes. The beta client we read (build 1.60.1.70009) already lists every campsite object: three per profession, learned at skill 20, 140 and 300, plus the campfires that cooks build. Here they are, with how camping works according to Blizzard.
How camping works
Placing a campfire creates a campsite where players can rest and use vendors, repairs, profession workspaces and one-hour buffs. To get the buffs, you sit by the fire for a few moments and get rested; it is also the place to refresh food buffs, which Blizzard has reworked. Some parts of Azeroth, it warns, are better suited to a quiet rest than others.
- A Basic Campfire holds up to three crafted objects placed by nearby players, one per player, and those objects share a one-hour cooldown.
- Each profession has three objects, learned at different skill levels, and gives its own buff or utility whichever of them is placed: a Blacksmith's Sharpening Wheel raises Attack Power, a Tailor's Faction Banner Spirit, a Herbalist's Incense Candle Intellect. These don't stack with the matching class buffs.
- The first objects come at skill 20, from special NPCs who introduce camping or from profession trainers; the more advanced ones come from Blueprint recipes dropped by specific dungeon bosses.
- Cooks can learn upgraded campfires that hold five or 10 objects.
Since the beta's September 24 build, campfire buffs can be picked up while sitting, lying down or kneeling, and while crafting or casting.

Cooking builds the fires themselves: the Basic Campfire from skill 1, the Journeyman Campfire at 90 and the Expert Campfire at 200, the two upgrades also taught by Blueprints, plus Cookie's Feast at 140 and the Iron Oven at 300.
