On November 6 at 21:11 UTC, Blizzard announced hotfixes for 3 of WoW Forever's 9 classes on Tuesday, November 10. Kaivax, a community manager, names the problems players found while leveling since launch: Hunter pets and Warlock Voidwalkers that do not hold as tanks, an Affliction rotation that leaves its damage-over-time spells aside, and Enhancement Shamans who gain more from caster stats than from Strength. Blizzard plans class balance changes on Tuesdays, "then on future Tuesdays if necessary", and may find new issues over the weekend.
Hunter pets and Voidwalkers: as tough as in Classic Era
"Hunter pets and Warlock Voidwalkers are not as durable as tanks as we would like them to be," Blizzard writes. Its goal is for them to be "relatively the same as in Classic Era", and it will adjust their stats to get there. That is the pet that holds enemies while a leveling Hunter or Warlock deals the damage: until the hotfix, it goes down sooner than in Classic Era.
A Warlock learns Summon Voidwalker at level 10. Our guide to Hunter pets covers the families a Hunter can tame and what each one brings.
Affliction: Wrack and the damage-over-time spells
Reports show that "always channeling Wrack is superior to also casting damage-over-time abilities like Siphon Life, Corruption, and Bane of Agony". Wrack is Affliction's talent at 30 points spent, after Siphon Life. In the game's client (build 1.60.1.70862), it is a channel: 86 Shadow damage every second for 6 seconds, and 10% more damage to the target from your other Shadow damage-over-time effects meanwhile.
Blizzard will make sure that Siphon Life, Corruption and Bane of Agony are "always worthwhile to cast combined with Wrack", "without affecting Affliction Warlocks' total damage output". What changes is the rotation, not the damage an Affliction Warlock deals. Our talent calculator and Warlock guide will follow the numbers once they are in the game.
