About this tool
Type a seed and see its world: every biome, the villages, strongholds, ancient cities, trial chambers and the new abandoned camps, in the Overworld, the Nether and the End, and what lies nearest to spawn. Generated in your browser, checked against Minecraft 26.3’s own generator.

How to find a world’s seed
- In Java Edition, type /seed in the chat. It needs commands allowed in singleplayer, or operator rights on a server.
- In a singleplayer world without commands, open it to LAN with Allow Commands on, then type /seed: the setting only lasts until you leave the world.
- When you create a world, the seed goes in the World tab. Left blank, it is random, as it is here.
How accurate is it?
The map is drawn by cubiomes, a library that reproduces Minecraft’s world generation, compiled for the browser. We compared it with Minecraft 26.3’s own generator on 19,000 points of seven seeds, in the Overworld with and without Large Biomes and in the Nether, from the sky to the deepest caves and up to two million blocks out: 18,994 give the same biome, and the other six sit on the border between two biomes. The spawn is an estimate, and a structure can still fail to appear where the terrain doesn’t allow it, as on every seed map.
What’s new in 26.2 and 26.3
26.3 adds the Dappled Forest and abandoned camps, and 26.2 added the Sulfur Caves, deep underground: pick a height below the surface to see them. Older versions, back to 1.18, are in the version list.
And Bedrock Edition?
Since 1.18, a seed makes the same terrain and biomes in Java and Bedrock, but Bedrock places its structures differently: the structures on this map are Java Edition’s.
Generated in your browser by cubiomes (Cubitect, xpple’s fork, MIT licence), commit 18edd56. Biome names as Minecraft 26.3 writes them.
Frequently asked questions
- How do I find villages with a Minecraft seed map?
- Type your world’s seed, pick the same Java Edition version as your world, then zoom in: structures only appear once the map is close enough, and the list beside the map greys out the ones that need more zoom. Tap a village to see its coordinates, its type (plains, desert, savanna, taiga or snowy, or a zombie village), how far it is from spawn and in which direction, and copy a ready-made /tp command.
- How do I find the seed of my Minecraft world?
- In Java Edition, type /seed in the chat: it needs commands allowed in singleplayer, or operator rights on a server. In a singleplayer world without commands, open it to LAN with Allow Commands on, then type /seed; the setting only lasts until you leave the world. When you create a world, the seed goes in the World tab, and left blank it is random.
- Does the seed map work with Bedrock Edition seeds?
- For terrain and biomes, yes: since 1.18 a seed makes the same terrain and biomes in Java and Bedrock. Structures, no: Bedrock places them differently, and the villages, strongholds and other structures on this map are Java Edition’s, for every version from 1.18 to the one shown at the top of the page.
- How accurate is this Minecraft seed map?
- For biomes, almost exact: the map is drawn by cubiomes, a library that reproduces Minecraft’s world generation, and on 19,000 points of seven seeds compared with the game’s own generator, 18,994 gave the same biome and the other six sat on the border between two biomes. The spawn is an estimate, and a structure can still fail to appear where the terrain doesn’t allow it.
- Can the seed map show the Nether, cave biomes and slime chunks?
- Yes. Switch the dimension to the Nether or the End, pick a height below the surface to see underground biomes such as Lush Caves, Deep Dark or Sulfur Caves, and turn on the Slime chunks layer. A spot tapped in the Overworld also shows its Nether coordinates (divided by 8), and a spot in the Nether its Overworld ones.
