Slime Chunk Finder

One chunk in 10 is a slime chunk, chosen by the world’s seed: below Y 40, slimes spawn there in any light, on every difficulty but Peaceful.

Enter your seed: the map draws them as green squares, and the list under it gives the 8 nearest to your spawn or to your own coordinates, and says whether your chunk is one.

How the game spawns slimes

Slime chunks

1 chunk in 10, chosen by the world’s seed. Below Y 40, slimes spawn there in any light, on every difficulty but Peaceful; 1 spawn try in 10 gets through, so they come slowly.

Swamps

In Swamp and Mangrove Swamp, slimes also spawn on the surface, from Y 51 to Y 69, in light 7 or less, as often as the moon allows:

1. 50%
2. 37.5%
3. 25%
4. 12.5%
5. 0%
6. 12.5%
7. 25%
8. 37.5%

From 50% of the tries at full moon to 0% at new moon, night by night.

Never

No slime spawns in Deep Dark and Mushroom Fields: their spawn lists have none.

On the map

Slime chunks are the green squares: zoom in to see them. The map works them out with the game’s own formula.
