Minecraft Java Edition 26.4 Snapshot 7 came out on November 3, 2026. It gives Calcite its own building set, 12 new blocks from pillars to polished bricks, and adds a music disc, "Flurry" by Hyper Potions, found in igloo basements. To play it, turn on snapshots in the Minecraft Launcher, and back up your world first: snapshots are test builds that can damage it.
The Calcite set
Calcite was a block without variants until now. Snapshot 7 gives it three families:
| Block | At a crafting table | At a Stonecutter |
|---|---|---|
| Calcite Pillar | 2 Calcite stacked → 2 | 1 Calcite → 1 |
| Calcite Slab, Stairs, Wall | 3 → 6, 6 → 4, 6 → 6 | 1 Calcite → 2, 1, 1 |
| Polished Calcite | 4 Calcite in a 2×2 square → 4 | 1 Calcite → 1 |
| Polished Calcite Slab, Stairs, Wall | same as Calcite | 1 Calcite or Polished Calcite → 2, 1, 1 |
| Polished Calcite Bricks | 4 Polished Calcite in a 2×2 square → 4 | 1 Calcite or Polished Calcite → 1 |
| Polished Calcite Brick Slab, Stairs, Wall | same as Calcite | 1 Calcite, Polished Calcite or bricks → 2, 1, 1 |
The Stonecutter skips every step: one raw Calcite becomes any of the 12 blocks directly, and it saves a third on stairs, one block per stair where the crafting table spends six for four. Calcite is easy to find in amethyst geodes, on Stony Peaks and, in the 26.4 snapshots, in the bands that streak the walls of ice caves. All three families give the Sulfur Cube its "Slow Bouncy" archetype.
The game doesn't translate the new names yet, nor the disc: they show in English in every language until a later build.
"Flurry", a new music disc
The disc plays "Flurry" by Hyper Potions, 2 minutes 34 seconds long, and a comparator reads a signal of 7 from a jukebox playing it. It comes from igloo basements: the game's loot table gives each basement chest a 30% chance to hold it, on top of its usual golden apple. Our seed map shows where igloos stand in your world; only half of them have a basement, under a trapdoor hidden by the carpet, and our seeds with an igloo basement put one within 260 blocks of spawn. Every other disc, and where to find it, is in our music discs guide.
Mojang also hid a new decorative block "somewhere" in the world, without saying where. The game's language files name it Chiseled Soulshale.
