About this tool

Type a seed and see its world: every biome, the villages, strongholds, ancient cities, trial chambers and the new abandoned camps, in the Overworld, the Nether and the End, and what lies nearest to spawn. Generated in your browser, checked against Minecraft 26.3’s own generator.

How to find a world’s seed

  • In Java Edition, type /seed in the chat. It needs commands allowed in singleplayer, or operator rights on a server.
  • In a singleplayer world without commands, open it to LAN with Allow Commands on, then type /seed: the setting only lasts until you leave the world.
  • When you create a world, the seed goes in the World tab. Left blank, it is random, as it is here.

How accurate is it?

The map is drawn by cubiomes, a library that reproduces Minecraft’s world generation, compiled for the browser. We compared it with Minecraft 26.3’s own generator on 19,000 points of seven seeds, in the Overworld with and without Large Biomes and in the Nether, from the sky to the deepest caves and up to two million blocks out: 18,994 give the same biome, and the other six sit on the border between two biomes. The spawn is an estimate, and a structure can still fail to appear where the terrain doesn’t allow it, as on every seed map.

What’s new in 26.2 and 26.3

26.3 adds the Dappled Forest and abandoned camps, and 26.2 added the Sulfur Caves, deep underground: pick a height below the surface to see them. Older versions, back to 1.18, are in the version list.

And Bedrock Edition?

Since 1.18, a seed makes the same terrain and biomes in Java and Bedrock, but Bedrock places its structures differently: the structures on this map are Java Edition’s.

Generated in your browser by cubiomes (Cubitect, xpple’s fork, MIT licence), commit 18edd56. Biome names as Minecraft 26.3 writes them.
