Minecraft Java Edition 26.3 has 13 villager professions plus the wandering trader, and their trades now live in the game's data files: nearly 400 possible trades in all. Each time a villager levels up, from Novice to Master, it unlocks two trades picked at random from that level's list. Here is every list, profession by profession, with base prices and how many times each trade works before a restock, read from the game's files.

How villager trading works

A villager takes the profession of the job site block it claims, and every trade earns it experience toward the next level. At each of the five levels, Novice, Apprentice, Journeyman, Expert and Master, two new trades unlock from the lists below; a master librarian's list holds only two, so it gets both. Prices shown are base prices: they move with demand and with your reputation, and a trade locks once its uses run out until the villager restocks at its job site. Some trades depend on the villager's biome: fishermen buy boats of their own wood, cartographers sell maps to villages of other biomes, and banner colors vary. This guide covers the default trades, not the experimental Villager Trade Rebalance.

Armorer Blast Furnace

The trades worth knowing

  • Enchanted Books from librarians, Novice to Expert, for a Book plus emeralds: the enchantment is random among every tradeable one, which includes Mending, Frost Walker and the curses, and treasure enchantments cost double.
  • Ender Pearls (5 emeralds) at Expert and Bottles o' Enchanting (3 emeralds) at Master from clerics, who also take 32 Rotten Flesh for an emerald.
  • Enchanted diamond gear from armorers, toolsmiths and weaponsmiths at Expert and Master: a chestplate from 16 emeralds, a pickaxe from 13, a sword from 8, with the price rising with the enchantments.
  • Golden Carrots, 3 for 3 emeralds, from master farmers.
  • Explorer maps from cartographers: villages of other biomes, jungle temples and swamp huts at Apprentice, the Ocean Monument and buried Trial Chambers at Journeyman, the Woodland Mansion at Master for 14 emeralds and a Compass.
  • Easy emeralds: 24 Paper to a librarian or cartographer, 20 Wheat to a farmer, 32 Sticks to a fletcher, 10 Coal to a fisherman.

The wandering trader

The wandering trader offers two purchases picked from six (a water bottle for 1 emerald, a water or milk bucket for 2, a fermented spider eye for 3, 4 baked potatoes or a hay bale for 1), five common offers picked from 78, and two uncommon ones picked from 16. The common list sells dyes (3 for an emerald), flowers and seeds (1 emerald), saplings (5 emeralds), coral blocks and fish buckets (3), sand, moss and dripstone, and a Name Tag for a single emerald. The uncommon list adds packed and blue ice, gunpowder, podzol, logs (8 for an emerald), an enchanted iron pickaxe for 1 emerald and a long Potion of Invisibility for 5. Master librarians sell only candles in 26.3, which leaves the wandering trader as the cheap source of name tags.

What each enchantment on a traded book does is in our enchantments list, the recipes for job site blocks are in our crafting database, and the trading advancements, What a Deal! and Star Trader, are in our advancement checklist.
