GTA 6 can still be pre-ordered on the PlayStation Store, the Microsoft Store and in shops until it comes out on November 19, 2026, for $79.99 (Standard Edition) or $99.99 (Ultimate Edition). Every pre-order and every purchase made before November 20 gets the Vintage Vice City Pack, digital pre-orders add a free month of GTA+, and the boxed copy, which holds a download code instead of a disc, reaches shops on November 12, the day pre-loading opens. One rule matters more than the rest: on the PlayStation Store, you can cancel for a refund only until the game starts downloading, and pre-loading counts.
What it costs, and where to buy it
Pre-orders opened on June 25, 2026, at midnight local time, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only. A digital pre-order cannot sell out; stock of the boxed copy depends on each shop.

These are the PlayStation Store's and the Microsoft Store's prices on October 6, 2026, the same on both stores in each of these countries. That is the rule almost everywhere. The exceptions are in Latin America: in Mexico, the PlayStation Store asks MX$1,292.24 for the Standard Edition and the Microsoft Store MX$1,499, and in Argentina, Chile and Colombia the PlayStation Store charges in US dollars while the Microsoft Store charges in pesos. Shops set their own price for the box, sometimes below the stores': in France, E.Leclerc's own FAQ lists it at €60 instead of €79.99 on PS5 and Xbox Series X, on October 6. Compare before you order, and check that the box is for your console.
The pre-order bonus: it is not too late
Rockstar's wording is "all Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders and purchases before November 20, 2026", so a copy bought on launch day, November 19, still gets the bonus. It is the Vintage Vice City Pack, with both editions:
- a two-tone '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, with the Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach;
- outfits and hairstyles for Jason and Lucia;
- a weapon pattern inspired by Tommy Vercetti's palm tree shirt.
Digital pre-orders add a free month of GTA+, on either console. It is Rockstar's membership for GTA Online, with a library of older Rockstar games, which Take-Two calls "the best way to get the most out of the ever-evolving world of GTA Online": it unlocks nothing in GTA 6, which Take-Two describes as "a single-player experience".
The Ultimate Edition adds vehicles, weapons, outfits and five businesses, all detailed in our guide to the GTA 6 Ultimate Edition. A Standard Edition can be upgraded later for $20, so there is no need to decide now.
The boxed copy: a code, not a disc
GTA 6 has no disc. The box, on sale from November 12, holds a download code for the Standard Edition, and the Ultimate Edition is sold digitally only. You redeem the code and download the whole game, which you can do from November 12, a week before launch, just like a digital pre-load.
Where the box comes from matters on PS5:
- PlayStation 5: the code only redeems on a PlayStation Network account of the same region as the box, according to Rockstar's support page as reported by Notebookcheck and Push Square. Sony does not let an existing account change region, so buy the box in the country of your account.
- Xbox Series X|S: the code works on an account from any country.
Since nothing goes in the drive, a boxed copy works just as well on a PS5 Digital Edition.

On the PlayStation Store, a pre-order paid 14 days or less before release can be cancelled up to 14 days after payment, on the same condition: the download must not have started. Automatic downloads, if they are on, start the pre-load by themselves on November 12, so if you are still hesitating, decide before then or switch them off. Shops have their own terms for the box.
Pre-loading and the unlock
Digital pre-orders and boxed codes can be downloaded from November 12; the PlayStation Store lists a "7-Day Pre-load". On PS5, Sony's steps are to turn on "Stay Connected to the Internet" in the settings, then open the game in your library and switch on its automatic download. The store listings unlock the game at midnight local time on November 19, and the hour in each country is in our GTA 6 release time table. The download size has not been announced yet.
PS5 or Xbox, and PC
GTA 6 comes out on every PS5, the Digital Edition and the PS5 Pro included, and on Xbox Series X|S. There is no PS4 or Xbox One version, and no PC version to pre-order: Rockstar has not announced one, as our article on GTA 6 on PC explains. Sony has not announced an official console bundle with the game, although some shops sell their own. Sony's marketing says GTA 6 "plays best on PS5", but the editions, their prices in most countries and the pre-order bonus are the same on both consoles.
