WoW Forever name reservation has opened: what we know
Name reservation for WoW Forever opened on October 27 in Europe and North America, a day later in Korea and Taiwan: up to 3 characters, and what's settled.
WoW Forever's name reservation has opened. Early Name Reservation opened in Europe on October 27 at 18:00 CET and in North America at 1:00 p.m. PDT; Korea and Taiwan opened on October 28 at 07:00 local time. Owners of an upgrade can create up to three characters in total, across all rulesets, in a window Blizzard set from October 27 to November 3, 2026 (Pacific time), and names go first come, first served. Two minutes after the North American opening, Blizzard warned Oceanic players of a bug on the Australian realms: Kaivax's message on the official forums asks them to create their Roleplaying and Roleplay-PvP characters first.
What the opening settled
Roleplay-PvP is open for reservation. On October 22, Blizzard said it was working hard to let you pick that ruleset from the start of the reservation, without promising it; its warning of October 27 names Roleplay-PvP among the rulesets of reserved characters. Our Roleplay-PvP guide sums up what it changes.
A bug on the Australian realms. In the Oceanic region, on Australian servers, create your Roleplaying and Roleplay-PvP characters before any Normal or PvP one: once a Normal or PvP character exists, the Roleplaying and Roleplay-PvP rulesets are no longer offered for the next ones. Blizzard says only these players are affected and that it is working on an urgent fix (Kaivax, October 27, 20:02 UTC).
Before you spend your three characters
Pick your ruleset first. The three characters count across Normal, PvP, Roleplaying and Roleplay-PvP, and groups, mail and guilds never cross from one ruleset to another: our guide to realms and rulesets compares them.
Two names per character. You type a Main Name and a Secondary Name, and the full name must be unique in your whole region: our name reservation guide has the rules.
Your build. Try your class in our talent calculator before you name your character.
What comes next
Reserved characters wait for launch, on November 4 at 3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC), and our launch countdown shows that moment in your time zone. Every region's opening time and the steps to reserve are in our name reservation start times.

Frequently asked questions
01What time did WoW Forever name reservation open?
In Europe on October 27 at 18:00 CET, in North America at 1:00 p.m. PDT, and in Korea and Taiwan on October 28 at 07:00 local time, as Blizzard announced on October 20. Blizzard set its last day on November 3, Pacific time, without a closing hour.
02Can you reserve names on Roleplay-PvP in WoW Forever?
Yes, during Early Name Reservation, from October 27 to November 3: Blizzard said on October 22 that it was working hard to make it possible, without promising it, and its warning to Oceanic players of October 27 names Roleplay-PvP among the rulesets of reserved characters. The three reserved characters count across all rulesets.
03How many names can you reserve in WoW Forever?
Three characters in total, across all rulesets: two created on PvP leave one for Normal, Roleplaying or Roleplay-PvP. Names go first come, first served, and Blizzard can't guarantee the one you want.
04Why can't I reserve a name in WoW Forever?
Early Name Reservation needs an upgrade on the same account: the Skyborne Heroic Pack, the Skyborne Epic Pack or the Warcraft Forever Collection; a subscription alone doesn't include it. In the Battle.net app, choose World of Warcraft: Forever in the Game Version menu above the Play button. On the Australian realms of the Oceanic region, a bug Blizzard named on October 27 hides Roleplaying and Roleplay-PvP once a Normal or PvP character exists: create those first.
05When does WoW Forever launch?
On November 4 at 3:00 p.m. PST (23:00 UTC), the same moment in every region, and reserved characters are ready to play then.
Blizzard changed course on October 22: WoW Forever gets a Roleplay-PvP ruleset at launch, and opened it to name reservation on October 27. What it changes.
