The Fortnite Chapter 7 Season 4 Battle Pass, Override, costs 800 V-Bucks and holds eight outfits: Sonic the Hedgehog, Wrixel, Phantom, Mali, Bastian, K1ttyW1ns, Grace Crowne and Geno, plus the Tails Sidekick. Here is what each outfit and style takes to unlock, and how the pass works, as of September 28.
Price, V-Bucks and end date
Epic sells the pass for 800 V-Bucks, or includes it in Fortnite Crew, the subscription that also covers the OG Pass, the Music Pass and the LEGO Pass. The pass itself holds up to 800 V-Bucks to unlock, "enough to get the next one at no extra cost", as Epic puts it; TheGamer's reward list shows them as 100 V-Bucks on eight of the pages.
Rewards unlock with XP earned in any Fortnite experience. According to Polygon, the OverrideXP Lobby Hack gives 40,000 XP, or half a level. On Xbox, an in-game notice from Epic says Lobby Hacks can't be entered for now; codes from the v42.20 update stay valid until the end of the season and can be entered on another platform.
Epic's Battle Pass page says the pass ends on November 1, 2026, Eastern Time, while Polygon's launch report gave October 31 as the end of the season: don't leave your last levels for the final night. Afterwards, Epic says, Battle Pass items may come back to the Shop, but no sooner than 18 months after the pass expires.
How the pages and levels work
Each outfit has two pages of rewards. Sonic comes with the purchase; every other outfit is the last reward on its first page, which opens at a set level: 10 for Wrixel and Phantom, 35 for Mali and Bastian, 60 for K1ttyW1ns and Grace Crowne, and 85 for Geno.
Polygon presents each of the first three pairs as a choice between two outfit paths. In TheGamer's list, though, both outfits of a pair open at the same level, and the bonus rewards require claiming every reward in the pass, so finishing it gets you all eight. Claiming a whole second page unlocks that outfit's second style, and Epic adds that the special styles take quests, which open once you have claimed other rewards.
Every outfit and its styles
- Sonic the Hedgehog (purchase): Super Sonic, for claiming all of Sonic's second page, where the Tails Sidekick sits too. It includes the Go Super Sonic built-in emote, which switches between the two looks during a match.
- Wrixel (level 10): Haze with the outfit, Helsie with page 2, then Build-a-Wrixel looks based on Fortnite characters. According to GameRant, Peely takes buying or upgrading 8 Loot Hacks, Meowscles picking up 8 power-ups (1-Up Tokens or God Mode Llamas), Cuddle Team Leader entering a Lobby Hack and Fishstick activating Overrides. Jonesy and Hope come from talking to Jones and Hope on the island, and Ziggy from the Get Crafty story quests. Drift, Luxe, Ruby and Skull Ranger each need four parts hidden around one location; Lynx, Aerial Assault Trooper, Aura and Ghoul Trooper come from Cheat Codes.
- Phantom (level 10): Arctic Stealth Phantom (page 2), Chaos Agent Phantom (bonus).
- Mali (level 35): Slappy Slurpwaters Mali (page 2), Gloomwarden Grove Mali (bonus), Peril Peak Mali (gifting).
- Bastian (level 35): Midnight Oath Bastian (page 2), Sandseeker Bastian (bonus).
- K1ttyW1ns (level 60): Neon Night K1ttyW1ns (page 2), Alpine Ice K1ttyW1ns (bonus).
- Grace Crowne (level 60): Undercover Grace Crowne (page 2), Serpentine Operative Grace Crowne (bonus), Infiltrator Grace Crowne (launch week).
- Geno (level 85): Ageless Geno closes page 2 and includes the Shapeless Shift built-in emote. Ordered Geno rewards the eighth Geno quest. For Void Master Geno, GameRant says to enter the Lobby Hack code YourThoughtsAreMine once all the Geno quests are done; Polygon lists it as the reward for nine.
Bonus pages and the v42.20 styles
Once every regular reward is claimed, bonus pages open for five outfits, Phantom, Mali, Bastian, K1ttyW1ns and Grace Crowne, each ending with the style marked "bonus" above.
According to Polygon, the v42.20 update of September 17 added three more styles to each of those five outfits: Decrypted, Override and Mainframe, as in Decrypted Mali, Override Mali and Mainframe Mali. Polygon lists them as bonus rewards, so they also wait until the regular pass is done. Sonic, Wrixel and Geno don't get them.
Launch-week and gifting bonuses
Buying the pass before August 27 at 11:59 p.m. ET gave the Infiltrator Grace Crowne outfit and accessories as a launch-week bonus. According to Polygon, that meant getting Grace Crowne, normally a level 60 reward, right away. That window has closed.
The gifting bonus runs all season: gift the pass to a friend and, Epic says, you both get the Peril Peak Mali outfit and accessories.
With about five weeks left, the bonus styles are the longest road. For the rest of the season, see our Fortnite Override guide; Ranked cosmetics are in our Ranked rewards list, and our Fortnite hub follows each season.
