About this tool
Is Fortnite down right now? Every Fortnite service (login, matchmaking, Item Shop, parties, voice chat) as Epic’s own status page reports it, checked every minute while the page is open, with current problems, planned maintenance in your time zone and the outages of the last 30 days.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Fortnite down right now?
- The answer at the top of this page is live: it comes from Epic Games’ own status page, read when you open the page and again every minute while it stays open. Under it, every Fortnite service has its state, and any problem or maintenance Epic reports has its latest update and its times in your time zone.
- Why can’t I play when every service is working?
- Then the problem is most likely outside Epic’s services: your internet connection, your platform’s online service (PlayStation Network, Xbox network, Nintendo Switch Online) or a game update still to install. Restarting the game and your router solves most of these cases.
- How long does a Fortnite maintenance last?
- Each maintenance has its own length, which Epic gives on its status page when it plans one. This page shows that window in your time zone, counts down to its start and its end, and turns back to “No, Fortnite is up.” as soon as Epic marks the services as working again.
- Where does this page get its information?
- Only from Epic Games’ public status page, status.epicgames.com, which Epic updates itself. Your browser reads it directly: we add nothing and guess nothing, and Epic’s own messages are shown as Epic writes them, in English.
- What do the states mean?
- Working: no known problem. Slow: the service works, with delays. Partial outage: it fails for some players. Down: it fails for everyone. Maintenance: Epic took it offline on purpose, usually for an update. These are Epic’s own categories.
