The Ruins of Lordaeron, WoW Forever's new dungeon for levels 15 to 20, opens in the ruined capital above the Undercity, in Tirisfal Glades. For the Horde it is next door. For the Alliance it is a long trip to the edge of the Horde's capital, and the ruins count as the city: walking in flags you for PvP, even on a normal realm. No quest unlocks the dungeon. Here are the entrance, the Alliance route and what to do on arrival. The quests, six for the Horde and four for the Alliance, are in our Ruins of Lordaeron quests guide, and the map of its streets, the bosses and the loot on our Ruins of Lordaeron page.

Where the entrance is

  • The portal stands in the ruins above the Undercity, around 64.4, 67.5 on the Tirisfal Glades map, where the DungeonJournal addon marks it: once through the ruins' gate, turn left and go up the stairs.
  • Captain Truman, who gives the Alliance quest Abominable Creatures, waits just inside, left of the entrance.
  • No guards stand on the way, but the ruins count as the Undercity. Testers on Blizzard's forums report that walking through the gate flags Alliance characters for PvP, on normal realms too, and that Horde players wait there.

Blizzard's list of Forever's nine new dungeons gives the Ruins of Lordaeron levels 15 to 20. The Group Finder takes characters from level 15 and suggests the dungeon up to level 22.

Alliance: by ship to Southshore, then across Lordamere Lake

This is the route the DungeonJournal addon draws, and the one Alliance guides on YouTube follow:

  1. In Stormwind Harbor, take the ship to Auberdine. It leaves from Dock 1, the southernmost.
  2. In Auberdine, board the ship to Menethil Harbor, on the other side of the docks, and stay on it: after Menethil Harbor, it sails on to Southshore, in Hillsbrad Foothills.
  3. From Southshore, follow the road toward Hillsbrad Fields, then north toward Dalaran.
  4. Go around Dalaran, without going in, to Lordamere Lake.
  5. Swim north across the lake, from the Silverpine side into Tirisfal Glades.
  6. Follow the road to the ruins above the Undercity.

Some video guides climb the ruins' outer wall from behind instead of taking the gate. Either way, if Horde players kill you near the portal, run back as a ghost and resurrect as close to it as you can, then step in.

Pick up Abominable Creatures from Captain Truman at the entrance. The three other Alliance quests start from items you find inside and end in Stormwind City, so turn Abominable Creatures in to Captain Truman before you use your hearthstone.

Horde: next door

For the Horde, the ruins are the Undercity's doorstep, and Tirisfal's road leads straight there. Four of the six Horde quests are picked up before going in: at The Sepulcher in Silverpine Forest, in Brill and in the Undercity.

The Hall of Thanes, Forever's new dungeon on the Alliance side, lies beneath Ironforge, and Horde players who want it take a long road too: see our Hall of Thanes entrance guide. Our new dungeons guide covers all nine and the raids to come.
