World of Warcraft: Forever adds nine new dungeons and two new raids to the original game's instances, and no raid opens on launch day: Blizzard's roadmap unlocks three on December 9, the new Barrow Deeps (10 players) and Hyjal Summit (20) and the original Onyxia's Lair (40). Four of the new dungeons are already in the beta client's Group Finder, with their levels and bosses; the other five, and both new raids, are named in the client's Legacy challenges but are not playable yet. Here is the full picture as of October 6, from Blizzard's announcements and roadmap and the beta client (build 1.60.1.70205).
The nine new dungeons
Blizzard announced nine new dungeons for Forever. The beta client names all nine in its three "Spelunker" Legacy challenges, each of which lists the dungeons it asks you to clear:
- Novice Spelunker: the Ruins of Lordaeron and Excavation Site: Wetlands, with the Hall of Thanes as an alternative to Ragefire Chasm, alongside Wailing Caverns, the Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep.
- Experienced Spelunker: City of Dalaran, the Drowned City and Krol'dok Stronghold, alongside Blackfathom Deeps, Gnomeregan, the four Scarlet Monastery wings and Razorfen Kraul.
- Master Spelunker: Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and the Shaper's Terrace, alongside the original endgame dungeons, from Razorfen Downs and Uldaman to Blackrock Spire, Scholomance, Stratholme and Dire Maul.
Each list mixes new and original dungeons of similar levels, which gives a good idea of where the new ones sit on the road to 60.
Four already in the Group Finder
Four of the new dungeons are in the client's Group Finder, with the level range it suggests and the bosses in the game's order:
| Dungeon |
Levels |
Bosses |
| Hall of Thanes |
13–20 |
Faldrim Anvilmar, Infurnus, Plunder, Durgen Dirgehammer |
| Ruins of Lordaeron |
15–22 |
Witherfang, The Abandoned, The Butcher, Rath'mael, Lordaeron Captain, Viktor the Vile, Bjork |
| Excavation Site: Wetlands |
26–33 |
Saltspine, Shadetooth, Highland Horror, Relic Guardian |
| City of Dalaran |
28–35 |
Nine bosses, from the Arcane Anomaly to the Mana Wraith |
The beta opened with a level cap of 20, the Skyborne starting zone and two of these dungeons, Hall of Thanes and the Ruins of Lordaeron. The cap rose to 30 on October 1, and Blizzard's notes for that build opened Excavation Site: Wetlands (26–31 by their count); City of Dalaran stays out of testers' reach for now. The Drowned City, Krol'dok Stronghold, Alcaz Prison, Blackmaw Hold and the Shaper's Terrace have no map in the client yet: their levels and bosses are unknown.
Raids: none at launch, three on December 9
Blizzard's 2026–2027 roadmap, published with its BlizzCon What's Next recap, puts no raid in the November 4 launch. On December 9, five weeks later, it unlocks three:
| Raid |
Players |
Origin |
Legacy challenge |
| Barrow Deeps |
10 |
New |
Defeat all 8 bosses |
| Hyjal Summit |
20 |
New |
Defeat all 13 bosses |
| Onyxia's Lair |
40 |
Original game |
Defeat Onyxia |
Blizzard's Legacy article lists exactly these three as the raid challenges, one Legacy point each. With the two new raids, Blizzard also announced new tier sets and a legendary reward, without details yet.
Neither new raid has a map in the beta client, but their Legacy challenges already list their encounters:
- Conqueror of the Wilds (Hyjal Summit): Bandalar, Ancient of Decay, Time-Lost Battalion, Sylvestris Dusksong, Old Gloomlurker, Gharalis the Abyssal, Kathris the Haunted, Anara Chillwind, Elder Minderel, Tracker Stillwind, Council of Thorns, Nythus the Dreambound and The Wild King: thirteen in all.
- Conqueror of the Deeps (the Barrow Deeps): Chillhowl, Elder Tangleclaw, Khalith the Dreadspinner, Well of Sorrow, Amethrax, Del'lynar Songwood, Ravus and Darlissa, and Sonya Darkhallow: eight in all.
The level 30 build fixes the client's old spelling, "Conquerer", and puts Chillhowl where the Barrow Deeps list had the Deepscar Matriarch. Entry level, loot and the order of the encounters have not been announced, nor has the hour the raids open; Blizzard's Korean, Taiwanese and Chinese pages date the unlock December 10, local time.
Molten Core, Naxxramas and the other original raids
Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, Zul'Gurub, the two Ahn'Qiraj raids and Naxxramas are not on Blizzard's roadmap. The story is set before Molten Core, and after December 9 the roadmap lists two new raids (10 and 20 players) in spring 2027, then a "revamped iconic raid" and another new raid in summer 2027, without naming them; Blizzard adds that content and timing can change. Whether Molten Core or Naxxramas will return, and when, has not been announced.
The beta client still carries the original game's seven raids, from Onyxia's Lair and Molten Core to Naxxramas, beside its 19 original dungeons with Forever's own level ranges, from Ragefire Chasm (13–18) to Stratholme (58–60). That is data inherited from the original game, not a release date. Our dungeon pages and raid pages show each one's levels, wings and bosses in the game's order, with its loading screen.
Loot and Legacy points
Loot is kept on Blizzard's servers, not in the client, so no site can read a drop table from it. On each dungeon and raid page, players report what a boss dropped, and the page shows how many players saw each item fall.
Dungeons also feed the Legacy system: each Spelunker challenge grants one Legacy point, and so does each of the three raid challenges (Onyxia, Hyjal Summit, the Barrow Deeps), shared by every character on the account. You can tick them off in our Legacy challenges tracker.
With the beta capped at 30 since October 1, most of this is still ahead. The new zones, from Mount Hyjal to the Riverglades, have their own guide; for the release time in your time zone, the editions and their prices, see our WoW Forever release guide.
