On November 5, 2026, two weeks before the release of Grand Theft Auto VI, Rockstar put 38 new screenshots on its official site, gathered in a Launch Gallery at rockstargames.com/VI/launch-gallery and announced on its Newswire. Each one is 3840 × 2160 pixels. We went through all of them: what they show, where Rockstar sets them, and what they add to what we already knew about the game.
Where the 38 screenshots are set
Rockstar names each file after a place or a character, and the places follow the regions of its Leonida map. Vice City has the most, 15 of the 38. Grassrivers has two, the Leonida Keys and Port Gellhorn one each. The other 19 follow Jason (nine), Lucia (four) and the two of them together (six). Ambrosia and Mount Kalaga, the two other regions Rockstar has named, are not in this gallery. Our Leonida map and our guide to Leonida's six regions show where each region lies.
A bank job, then the chases
The gallery opens on a robbery: Jason and Lucia inside a Fleeca bank branch, bandanas over their faces, submachine guns in hand and duffel bags on their backs, while a teller and a kneeling customer raise their hands. Fleeca is the bank of GTA V's Los Santos, the target of GTA Online's first heist, The Fleeca Job. On the community map we host, the GTA VI Mapping Community lists Fleeca branches in Vice Beach and Hamlet; the screenshot does not say which one this is. Other screenshots show where such a job leads:
- Lucia firing from the passenger seat of a convertible, beside an armoured cash truck, police cars behind her;
- Jason on a motorbike in the rain, a patrol car and several helicopters on his tail;
- Jason and two other riders on motorbikes inside a mall, weapons drawn, facing two armed guards;
- Jason leaning out of a car window with an automatic weapon, bullet holes in the door, helicopters overhead;
- at night, Jason filling up a red car at a gas station while two police officers come up behind him, guns drawn;
- police boats, cars and a helicopter closing in on a yacht moored at a waterfront house;
- Jason aiming a customised assault rifle in front of a cargo plane, its ramp open, beside a dog in tactical goggles.
There are face-offs too: Jason squaring up to three men by a pickup, Jason pointing a handgun at a big, armed, tattooed man with another biker behind him, and a bearded man in a white suit offering a handgun to a younger man in a car. Lucia has four portraits of her own, each with a handgun: behind a rain-flecked window, at the wheel, in close-up, and at night in front of a police officer and his car.
