AION 2 is free to play: NC says no purchase is required. What money buys is set out in NC's own notices: a $14.99 monthly membership that opens the player Market and the exchange where Quna buys Kina from other players; Quna, from $5.99, which pays for shop items and the Daeva Pass; cosmetics that NC says give no combat advantage; and consumables such as scrolls, potions and resurrection stones, several of which are also handed out for free. Whether that makes AION 2 "pay to win" is for you to judge. Below is what each purchase gives, with NC's prices and NC's words.
What money buys, at NC's prices
Prices in US dollars, from NC's notices of September 30, 2026, unless a row says otherwise. NC lists them for its PURPLE store and notes they may vary by store.

Since the October 7 update, its skins, titles and other items work on the buyer’s other characters and servers, and a dedicated shop gives, for free, the items of the pack’s tier a character doesn’t own yet, until NC announces its closure |
The Daeva Pass in detail, with what each level gives, is in our article on the AION 2 Daeva Pass.
What NC says about power
NC set out its business model in a letter of July 8, 2026, updated on July 17, before the prices of September 30. In its words:
- "AION 2 is free to play and is accessible to every player with no purchase required."
- Cosmetics (outfits, wings, pets, weapon skins, accessories) are "purely aesthetic" and "give no gameplay or combat advantage".
- Consumables such as potions and resurrection stones "can assist you during combat but do not affect gear progression or long-term power", and "are also earnable through regular gameplay".
- Daeva Passes are sold per character and give "a combination of cosmetics, items, upgrade materials, and other in-game currencies".
NC added that some of this could change before launch; its launch FAQ of September 30 still points to this letter for the details.
