AION 2's global version opens on Monday, October 5, 2026, at 6:00 AM PDT — 13:00 UTC. It is free to play, on Windows PC only, through Steam or NC's own launcher, PURPLE. Everything below comes from NC's notices and the game's Steam page; the sources are at the end, and the countdown in your time zone is on our AION 2 page.

Advanced Access, for the players who bought a Founder's Pack, runs until October 5 at 05:00 UTC. The servers then close for about eight hours of maintenance, until the launch at 13:00 UTC. NC warns that maintenance times can change.
Free to play, on PC only
- AION 2 is free to play, with an optional monthly membership. NC sells cosmetic items and a battle pass, and the membership opens the player-driven economy and currency exchanges.
- Steam and PURPLE have the same content and the same servers. Linking the two accounts is optional, unless you want the same character on both.
- There is no mobile version. A controller works but is not officially supported, and neither are Linux or the Steam Deck.
- Progress from the Korean or Taiwanese versions does not carry over.
Languages
The interface and subtitles are in English, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese and Korean; the voices in English, Japanese and Korean. The language is chosen in Settings, under the language tab.
Regions, factions and servers
NC has servers in North America, Latin America, Europe and Asia. You choose a region, then a faction, then a server. Each server holds one faction only: every Elyos server is paired with an Asmodian one, and the players you meet in the Abyss and the other cross-faction modes come from the paired server.
The first pairs, published for Advanced Access:
| Region |
Elyos server |

| Europe |
Siel, Nezekan, Vaizel, Kaisinel |
Israphel, Zikel, Triniel, Lumiel |

NC has opened more servers since, in Europe and North America, as queues grew. Server transfers open on October 14, free at first; characters from Advanced Access will only move between Advanced Access servers.

NC's announcements on servers, maintenance and events are gathered, as NC publishes them, on our NC notices page.
